job today, force tomorrow (maybe!)

its official, i had a bright idea and i phoned this strange place called snig hill in sheffield and asked if they wouldn't mind giving me a job.
well, kind of. i go to the south yorkshire police recruitment day later this month to get the application form.
I'm not so sure that being stuck in an office all day is the best thing for me or James so i have taken the decision to move on and find something to do with my life and the police force seemed like a good idea. its working with people, different every day, challenging, similar to a pub but without the beer and for better money. ( i forgot a good thing, the money!!!!)
i'm not blind to the fact that it can be very dangerous, shifts and unsociable hours, mentally and physically draining and it can make you a social outcast to your local landlord but the good outweighs the bad and if nothing else, its a challenge.
i will not know anything for weeks and weeks if i get anywhere at all and if not, its back to the good old days of pubs and beer (looking after it, not drinking it!) but i feel energised that i have made a decision on my future and it's one that will help to create our future as a family.
who knows, its worth a try and if i become a police officer, mike might slow down!!!!!
